  • Cling On Paint Brushes

    $25.00$39.00

TheΒ CLING ON! Cling On Paint Brushes offerΒ superior application, resistant to shedding, and smooth flawless finishing.Β  Featuring premium synthetic filaments, beech wood painted handle, fully locked in epoxy cement to eliminate shedding and a stainless steel ferrule.Β  Hand made in Holland, Cling On! is designed for all waterborne materials. Brushes are available in oval and flat styles.

    Cling On Brush CareΒ –

Keep string intact on oval styles.Β  They are designed to preserve brush shape and are durable enough to withstand brush cleaning. -Before using, let your brush β€œget its feet wet”.Β  Allow the tips of the bristles to suspend in water.Β  Wring out lightly before use or spin to remove most of the water.Β  While painting, it may be beneficial to dip the tips in a little water to keep the paint from drying on the bristles and to produce the smoothest finish.

-Cling Ons are designed to be used and stored wet.Β  This feature contributes to the brush stroke-free and flawless finish.Β  This also prevents the paint from drying on and damaging your bristles.Β  The life expectancy of a Cling On brush surpasses other brushes for this reason. -When not in use, return the brush filaments to water (just the tips), do not saturate the head or handle of your brush in water.

Allowing the bristles to rest on the bottom of the container can disfigure them, so use a Cling On brush holder or engineer your own.Β  Start by using a jar with enough water to suspend the bottom of tips in, and a clip to hold the handle so that the tips keep from resting at the bottom of your container.

-When you are finished painting you may rinse with water or just return your brush to your brush holder to let the tips suspend in water, the paint will just slide off of the bristles.Β  A light rinse before use may be necessary and make sure to change out your water as needed.Β  If necessary, soap and water cleanup is acceptable if the paint has been allowed to dry on your bristles.

  • Stain Eliminating Primer – Quart

    $39.00

Our impressive Stain Eliminating Primer is a safe and effective bonding and stain eliminator in one!Β  With 3 color choices, it’s perfect for all of your projects.

Clear Stain Eliminating Primer is excellent if you want to distress to show wood or do color washes while sealing in tannins and stains. The clear primer will appear milky white in the can but it does dry clear.

Gray Stain Eliminating Primer is excellent if you plan to use reds, blues, purples, grays, and blacks. Superb coverage, preserving rich color while sealing in tannins and stains.

White Stain Eliminating Primer is excellent if you plan to use a light color. Priming is especially important if you are painting anything white that is a Depression-era piece!

    Application Advice:

The surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, grime, wax, and chalk. Remove all loose or flaking paint by scraping, wire brushing or sanding. Fill all holes and cracks and any voids or surface imperfections.

Stir product with a circular, lifting motion until the product is uniform throughout.

Wise Owl Stain Eliminating Primer may be applied by brush and roller or by spray. For best brush application results, use a quality nylon/polyester brush and a 3/8” nap cover. It may be thinned with up to 10% water for spray application.

Dry to touch in 1 hour, reapply in 4 hours under normal drying conditions. Sealing some stains may require two coats and a longer reapply window to allow the primer to dry thoroughly prior to finishing. This dry time is what seals in those stains and tannins.

After painting, wait 24 hours to apply the top-coat.

Clean-Up: Clean brushes and rollers in soapy water immediately after painting.

    Notes:

Priming is especially important if you are painting anything white that is a Depression-era piece! Β I cannot stress this enough. Β These things will BLEED!Β  Clean well and always use our stain eliminating primer before painting these.

Woods that are notorious for bleeding are Mahogany and Cherry

It is recommended to prime with Wise Owl Primer before using the One Hour Enamel for extreme adhesion of the paint to surfaces.Β  This increases durability and longevity.Β  Cabinets, tile, and floors should ALWAYS be primed without exception.
