Are you someone that decorates their home for every holiday?Β  I wish that I could say that I am that person, but I am ONLY that person at the shop. At home, I’m lucky if my tree is up by Christmas Eve. If you are that person, and you’re anxious to update your July 4th home decor, here are some ideas for incorporating red, white & blue decor around your home. I think these patriotic looks can go straight from Memorial Day until Labor Day.

Red, White & Blue Outdoor Decorating

Let’s start with the outdoors – your deck, porch, patio, whatever.  Obviously, this isn’t outdoors, but it COULD be. Just use your imagination!

This new, metal cart is perfect for entertaining on the deck. It’s going to serve as my starting point – now to add those red white and blue accessories.

I’m using red-trimed vintage enamel pots as planters – I wouldn’t use that pot on my stove, but it’s a perfect out-of-the-box planter. Β I love using vintage toolboxes for the very same thing as well. Β How about using a vintage toolbox for your napkins, silverware, and/or paper towel while dining al fresco?

This chippy chair and vintage stool would look amazing on your front porch.Β  I think a chair is always welcoming. It says “come stay, have a seat!” Add flowers on the chair and/or on the ground next to it for a little height and interest, too.

This handcrafted table can be indoors or out and pairs nicely with the chair.

Here’s another idea for an “out of the box” planter. A vintage cooler! Here I’ve staged it with some faux flowers which is always a great option even in an outdoor space. With faux plants, you never have to worry about keeping up with watering!

How about a vintage stool with a new birdhouse?

Summer Buffet

Similar to my outdoor decorating ideas, I am going to combine old and new with a red, white, and blue color scheme inside! Here is a cool vintage buffet styled with a patriotic flare.

I used this same method once again on a coffee table. Red, white, and blue and vintage + new! That sounds like a Dr. Seuss book title!

This look says red, white, and blue summer but neutral at the same time. This is definitely a look that can last all summer. As always I’ve incorporated varying heights, different textures, and a combination of vintage and new items.

Now for the Makeover…

Summer is obviously the perfect time for making your outdoor spaces beautiful… Summer is also perfect for just freshening things up a bit. That includes that project piece you have been wanting to work on.

Here’s a project piece we recently completed that loosely fits today’s patriotic color scheme. A corner cabinet that we changed from red to white and blue!

Looking for a Project Piece…Look NO Further

Remember, we are having our annual anniversary sale on July 9th, 10-2 pm. This time, and most likely, from now on, we are having it at the Grainery.Β  Our new event space and warehouse.Β

I guarantee it is the perfect place to grab a project piece and something to freshen up your home decor. Inside or out!

Getting Ready for Fall

FALL is the perfect time for a big overhaul.Β  That’s what we are gearing up for around here.Β  We’ll be making way for some amazing new fall decor and our Fall Vendor Market on August 27 & 28

I will be taking a break from the blog until then to get ready for all of the happenings.

Have a safe and Happy 4th!!!
