There’s still snow on the ground here in Michigan, but I think EVERYONE has caught spring fever.  No matter where you live, we are all ready for a little refresh in our home decor.  Spring is the perfect time to add a little pop of color.  Personally, I’m a big fan of mixing in a little rustic into any decor.  I love a good contrast.  Mixing in rusty, chippy vintage goodies with any style adds personality and character.

The landing at The Mill is a great example of a super-easy way to add a bit of rustic spring decor to your home.

Here, I used a vintage porch railing instead of a ladder turned vertically, to display a throw.  This throw is beautiful, but moreover, it is the perfect weight for the warmer, but still chilly spring evenings.  I know not everyone is a pink fan, but I’m loving the rustic spring vibe this vintage stool brings to the vignette.  In addition, adding greenery to any space is always a good idea.  Faux greenery is an even better idea if you ask me.  Big basket lover over here, too.  I use baskets for everything!  Additionally, you just can’t beat them for bringing in a bit of texture.

Have you ever thought about using a vintage porch swing as a shelf?  Granted, you need the space to do this.  Honestly, though, this would even work in a small space.  Talk about a great statement piece.  I’m using this swing at the mill, and can I just say, you can’t beat the charm and character this chippy, vintage piece brings?

I love using this big surface for a shelf, too. What a great way to display a large picture or sign.

Notice how everything is pretty neutral?

Adding these awesome flowers adds just the right amount of color for spring.

Can you believe these faux poppies? They look so real!

What about adding some rustic spring touches to your home entryway?  This is one of our displays at the mill, but I think this is a great look for an entryway table.

Come shop this look at the Mill this weekend!

As a pink-loving gal, I think spring is the perfect time to embrace that and incorporate the shades of all the springtime buds in your home decor looks.

Add spring colors like green, lavender, yellow and pink to your home decor.

You’ve heard me say this before, but layering is still a good idea.  Notice all the layers in the photo above. How fun is this rusty vintage headboard as the back layer?  I love the rustic element it brings to this look.  It’s also the perfect place to display this pink banner which adds another layer!

I want to show you one last way to add a bit of rustic spring decor to your home.  Recently, I’ve really been digging the boho look and have been mixing it in with our farmhouse look.  Sticking with one style will date your look, so don’t be afraid to let your style evolve with the times.

Combining styles will keep your decor from looking dated.

Clearly, the walls are totally rustic at The Mill, however, I don’t think the boho look is out of place, do you?  Adding a dried flower bouquet in a tobacco basket with a bit of burlap is just a little touch of rustic spring decor.  I love how it looks.  I’d also love to see how YOU are adding a bit of rustic spring decor to your home.
